Building a Culture of Inquiry through Communities of Learning, Inquiry, and Practice (CLIPs)

Welcome to our website about Communities of Learning, Inquiry, and Practice (CLIPs). You'll find seven modules about how to design and operate CLIPs. They are based on three years of action research among faculty at Bakersfield College. The enthusiasm expressed by the faculty for the CLIP work motivated us to put together these modules. The faculty and I are eager to share our experiences with other colleges. We hope the modules will be of use to you as you enhance teaching and learning in your situation.

If you want to talk with members of the CLIPs at Bakersfield College, contact Kathy Wyckoff at InSites (kwyckoff@insites.org or 970-226-1003). She will arrange it for you. I'm also happy to talk with you about the work. You can reach me at bparsons@insites.org. We would love to hear from you about your experiences in using CLIPs or similar processes.

Privacy

InSites respects your privacy. We do not make your contact information or any other personally identifiable information available to anyone outside InSites or its service providers (who use the information only for authorized InSites purposes) unless we are legally required to do so.

We collect information you provide about your use of and satisfaction with the modules through email you send us, through InSites surveys. When we report information about the CLIP modules’ access, use, and impact, we report aggregate, non-personally identifiable data. Occasionally, we report quoted feedback from users. We do not attribute feedback to specific individuals unless we obtain permission to use that person's name along with the feedback.
