Welcome

As a CLIP Facilitator, you will be responsible for convening the meetings and guiding the inquiry of one CLIP. You’ll coordinate with the CLIP Guide, the person responsible for providing the overall structure and support for all CLIPs at your college.

CLIPs adhere to a shared, participatory style of decision making and leadership. Throughout your CLIP work, you’ll help the group remain true to the Eight Guiding Principles for CLIPs.

Serving as a facilitator will strengthen your skills in:

  • inquiry
  • leadership
  • community-building

After going through this module the first time, you will have a sense of your tasks as the CLIP Facilitator and the resources available to you through this module. The module provides you with resource materials that you can keep coming back to as you continue your work as a CLIP Facilitator.

As a CLIP Facilitator, your major tasks are to:

  • get a CLIP started
  • facilitate CLIP meetings
  • facilitate the CLIP inquiry
  • build the CLIP community
  • maintain attention to the big picture

This module has been designed to allow you to use tools and methods at an increasingly complex level as you discover what is needed in your situation to facilitate the work of the CLIP.
