Decision Making in CLIPs  
 

Making decisions typically involves six phases:

  1. Define the decision to be made.
  2. Appraise the situation.
  3. Create alternative solutions.
  4. Decide what it means to be successful.
  5. Agree on a plan.
  6. Implement the plan.

Sometimes the decisions are made so easily and quickly that you won’t realize that you have gone through the phases. Other times it is helpful to work through these phases very intentionally.
